Sky & Telescope Published since 1941, Sky & Telescope sets the gold standard for astronomy magazines. Designed for astronomy buffs as well as professionals in the field, it is "written so that it appeals to all astronomy enthusiasts, from the youngest novice to the most-seasoned professional, articles are easily understandable by technically savvy readers and those who benefit from clear descriptive language and graphics." (Magazines for Libraries, 2000) NightSky: Backyard Astronomy for Everyone Night Sky magazine began publication in 2004 and is designed for the backyard astronomer who is just getting started. One customer wrote that "The content of Night Sky hits the nail on the head, covering just what newbies are interested in with clear, insightful articles supported by straightforward graphics and charts." SkyWatch SkyWatch is an annual publication that offers tips on stargazing, with 16 monthly star charts, tips on observing the moon, and more. New Scientist: The embargo period for New Scientist (in Science Resource Center) is now one month, down from the previous six month embargo. New Scientist covers many different science disciplines and article citations appear often in the results lists for common searches. |
